Week 9 Blog

Over the weekend, I braved a few winter storms to travel to Denver for a concert. While we didn't have much time to stop and get cool pictures (I really wanted to stop in RMNP, but time was not on our side both getting there and getting back!) I thought it would be a good editing exercise to edit some of the photos I took during the concert using the Photoshop Express app.

All photos were taken on a Samsung Galaxy S9 using default camera and edited using Photoshop Express.

I used the dehaze tool on this to cut out some of the haze created by the fog machines (and the legal substances in Colorado) and warmed up the temperature to bring out some of the yellows and greens in the fog. I want to figure out how to make the drummer not look as yellow.

I cropped out a lot of the bottom of this picture because we were four rows back so there were a lot of hands up during this song. I used the dehaze tool again and brought the white balance to a filter matching the light in the Pepsi Center a little more. I also tried to make the colors not as dramatic, but with the Express app I wasn't able to find a tool that could do what I wanted to do with the picture.

I didn't crop heads out of this shot because I love the yellow platform and how it stands out from the red background. I wish this was a cleaner shot but I found it was really hard to get clear shots during a concert, especially being in the pit and just using my smartphone. I wish I could have been in front of the barricades with a canon, but I still think this is a cool shot.

I know these pics aren't nature-related, but I think they were cool to use and test the Photoshop Express app a little more. I don't plan on attending any major concerts this weekend, so I'm hoping to get out and get some nature shots to test the Express app in a way more related to this course.
